Bacon or Field Mushroom filled rolls on mornings we have had an early start will help set you up for a long cruise to the more distant islands. You will soon discover Breakfast at sea first thing in the early morning light on the water is a very special experience.

On the more relaxed mornings it may be Buttery Scrambled Eggs, topped with locally Smoked Salmon crowned with a Hot Smoked Salmon Pate. See below. Or maybe a Stornoway Black pudding, Haggis Stack with grilled fresh herby tomatoes. (Veggie versions are available.) Lunches

A lunch at anchor might include a freshly homemade soup, or Dhal, fresh baked bread and butter or a light meal of a mezzo of salads with home bakes or sandwiches.
Fresh fruit is always available from a well stocked fruit bowl in the saloon it will be replenished everyday.

Then there is the magic biscuit barrel which is always open and always filled with your favourites; it is rarely found empty! Afternoon tea may be offered depending on itinerary. If not cake then bowls of nibbles will be out to be enjoyed with your afternoon tea or tipple.

Often we will arrange for a simple packed lunch, enabling passengers to head ashore for an extended day allowing them to make the most of their time on these amazing islands.

It is best to remember that…..being at sea, nothing is set in stone, which in turn creates the delightful experiences that our cruises offer. Going with the flow and being adaptable is what makes a ‘Hebridean Adventure’ so amazing.

Many things change but the quality of food aboard Hjalmar Bjorge is a constant and something that you can look forward too.
